MOVEMENT SKILLS

Gross Motor skills

Some indicators that your child could benefit from an Occupational Therapy assessment:

​

  • not achieving gross motor developmental milestones: head control when placed on tummy, rolling, sitting, crawling

  • falls more often than peers

  • bumps in to people or things regularly

  • poor coordination of upper limbs and/ or lower limbs

  • has not developed dominant hand by the age of 6

  • tires easily

  • struggles to stay in an upright seated posture when sitting at table

  • scared of swings/ slides

  • avoids sports or PE type activities: star jumps, ball games, hopping
